About WhataburgerNutrition.com

Your independent, data-driven companion for calculating calories, macronutrients, net carbs, and allergens across the Whataburger menu.

Our Mission

Static PDF nutrition charts make it frustrating to calculate the real impact of a customized fast-food meal—especially when you swap sauces, add bacon or jalapeños, or compare a burger combo against a salad.

We built WhataburgerNutrition.com to turn static restaurant nutrition tables into an instant, mobile-friendly meal builder. Whether you are counting daily calories, tracking protein for strength training, managing net carbs on a ketogenic diet, screening for Celiac or FDA Big-9 allergens, or watching sodium intake, our calculator gives you transparent numbers in real time.

Data Methodology & Calculation Standards

Our database contains 242 unique Whataburger menu items organized across 17 dining categories. Here is how our calculator processes and presents nutritional metrics:

1. Official Source Alignment

All 11 base nutrient columns (calories, calories from fat, total fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium, total carbohydrates, dietary fiber, total sugars, and protein) are verified line-by-line against Whataburger's official published Nutrition & Allergen Guide.

2. Handling Ranges, Trace Values & Atwater Factors

Where published tables list trace carbohydrates as <1g (such as 20–44 fl oz Diet Coke® or Coke Zero™), the calculator assigns 0.5g so multi-item sums remain mathematically valid. For published ranges like sliced Jalapeños (90–140mg sodium), the calculator uses the midpoint (115mg). Macronutrient energy percentages use the USDA Atwater General Factor System (4-4-9 kcal/g).

3. U.S. FDA 21 CFR § 101.9 % Daily Values

The interactive Nutrition Facts label calculates % Daily Value (%DV) using U.S. FDA 21 CFR § 101.9 reference standards for a 2,000-calorie diet: 78g Total Fat, 20g Saturated Fat, 300mg Cholesterol, 2,300mg Sodium, 275g Total Carbohydrate, 28g Dietary Fiber, and 50g Protein.

4. ADA Net Carbs & Dietary Badges

Following American Diabetes Association (ADA) conventions, Net Carbs are computed as max(0, Total Carbohydrates − Dietary Fiber). Items are badged as Keto (<20g net carbs), High Protein (20g+ protein), Low Sodium (<500mg sodium), and Vegetarian (meat-, poultry-, and fish-free).
